I can hardly believe another year has passed.
It's so crazy to me how fast time flies.

As I reflect upon this past year,
I was thinking of the events, what God has taught me this year.
This year had me learning patience. And waiting.
Waiting on God's time.
His perfect time.
Oh, how difficult that can be.
Such a simple, yet difficult task at times.
But oh, how blessed you will be of you just wait upon the Lord.
For His timing IS perfect

What a blessed year 2016 truly has been!
Making new friends and reuniting with the old ones. ❤

This year, life hasn't been anything extremely extravagant
Just simple, beautiful and fun!

Many adventures I have had this year.
Such fun memorable adventures!

Road trips.
Visiting friends and family.
Many canoeing trips.
wonderfully spent time with such wonderful people.
Making fabulous memories.
Star gazing.
Taking long walks, enjoying creation.
Picking many wildflowers.
Making many bouquets.
Spent a good bit of wonderful time with my great-grandmother.
Sipping on tea.
Documenting life.
Watching many a sunrises and sunsets.
Many beach trips with some of my favorite people.
Mission trip to Nicaragua.
And so many more fabulous things!

I really have way too many great photographs from this year to pick just a few.
But I've done my best.
{You can find the collage that I posted on instagram}

I do hope that this year brings many wonderful things to you!
Happy New Year!

Christmas time.
Happiness all around.
Yummy smells.
Sitting in the dim light of the tree. {oh, how lovely!}
A time for giving.
A time of reuniting.
A time for bundling up. {For only a short while if you live in Florida}
Wearing fun socks, sweaters and leg warmers.
Hot cocoa.
Bright reds & dark greens.
Christmas music.
And more!
I just can't help loving this time of year!

One of my favorite memories as a kid;
The day after Thanksgiving;
My sister and I turn the Christmas music on, {nice and loud}
Christmas lights get brought out.
They get strung up.
All the other lights in our bedroom are off.
And we'd play card games.
The temperature outside was dropping low.
The house felt cozier and cozier.

Oh, how I miss those days!
I miss that cold, cold weather.
I miss the  completely bare trees.
The bundling up for months.

Christmas in Florida just isn't the same.
It's still so warm,
There's still blooming flowers,
So much green on the trees.
It doesn't seem right to me.

Even still,
I know and remember the real important thing about this season.

Celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus.

Even though with growing up came many changes.
That will always be the same.

Some things never change.

Have a super awesome Christmas, everyone!❤️

Going to the beach is always fun and exciting.
But getting up early for the sunrise is just super!!!
So we get up, we're tired.
Yet so excited.
We're on our way, the sky is beginning to awaken.
I'm worried we're going to miss it.
Finally, our arrival!
We made it in time!
The very edge of the earth is turning bright pink.
The excitement continues to well up.
You can't even imagine the beauty of it unless you see it in person.
The sun begins the peak over the horizon.
So bright.
So big.
So orange.
Oh! The beauty!!
A lovely photograph, indeed!
Orange, yellow, pink, purple, blue.
God's paintings are the best.
A big bird, enjoying the sunrise as well.
Another lovely photograph.
A bird silhouette.
So majestic looking.
The sun goes higher, it gets smaller looking.
Our attention is now on the shells.
Little beach gems.
Small pieces of precious treasure.
Placing in a mason jar for safe keeping.
Now for resting.
Basking in that beautiful warm sunshine.
A truly lovely morning it was!

This was supposed to be yesterdays post.
Sorry that it's a day late.
I was gone literally almost all day, yesterday.

This blog post was going to be about my trip to Tennessee.
But I changed my mind.

I'm not going to get in any political stuff.
But it's obvious, that this country has been and continues going downhill.
Real fast.
And it's just going to get worse.
No matter who gets elected this year.
We're screwed.
But that's not what I'm going to focus on.
I'm going to focus on the hope that I have.

It seems as if there is none, at times.
But there is!
Jesus is the only hope.
No matter what happens, He is still in control.
We can always lean on, trust and put our hope in Jesus.
And doing so, you will be blessed!
Don't just take my word for it.

Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.”
Jeremiah 17:7

In this world, it's hard not to get discouraged.
But when you do start feeling that way,
Remember that we can put all our hope in Jesus.
And He's got this.

Have a great evening,

Hello, friends!
I hope today finds you in good health.
I'm sorry I haven't been present for awhile.
I was out of town for about 10 days.
Just got back yesterday .
And leaving again tomorrow!
I love being on the road,
Its my favorite!
I'm barely being able to squeeze in a blog today.
Though I should be unpacking.
And re-packing, I wanted to make sure to write a blog for this week since I missed last week!
And I didn't want you all to think I stopped blogging or something! ;-)

I have had the wonderful opportunity to stay with my 95-year-old great-grandmother for awhile!
It was a wonderful time! Much laughter, and great memories were made!
I cherish the time I have with her very much!
She's forever making me smile and laugh!

Isn't she the cutest?
One lovely evening we went on a walk.

I now know where I really get my sass, stubbornness and attitude from! ;-)

Many nights of unforgettable dominoes, rummy and some marble game that I don't know the name of. ;-)

And tomorrow I'm planning to travel to TN!
I can't wait to see SO many friends and family!
Hopefully I'll do a blog post about the trip full of lots of fun photographs when I return!

A few other things:
I don't know about where you all live, but the weather here in northern FL is mighty pretty!
My coconut oil is now solid! { You coconut oil lovers understand :-) }

Open windows.
The nights call for a light sweater.
Fall decorations are out!
I just feel like happiness is in the air. ♥

Today, in between trips, thankfully I got to spend this lovely day with one of my very best friends.
We stopped and picked wildflowers on the side of the road.
Then we went to the park and picnicked by the lake!
It was absolutely beautiful!
I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Well, I guess there's a short update on my life, these days.
Grace and peace to all,

It had been a rainy day, the clouds finally decided to part.
The sun was just about to set for the evening.
I strapped on my bright yellow rubber boots and headed to the edge of the forest to watch that sun go down.
So many times.
Countless times have I watched the sun go down.
Has it gotten old?
Will it ever?
Never, I tell you.
As I approached my watching spot, I began to notice that the forest was sparkling.
Raindrops. Everywhere there were raindrops.
Glistening with that orange sun behind them.
It was like a magical dream.
I needed my camera.
I was going to bring it but for some reason I didn't
I raced back to the house as fast as my short legs could take me.
In my bright yellow rubber boots, running through the forest, hopping over logs, ducking under low tree limbs.
Thankfully, I had gone out there too early.
I was too impatient to wait another 15 minutes.
But I'm so glad I didn't.
Finally, back to the house.
Grabbing my camera, and racing back to the edge of the forest.
I barely made it in time!
The running and hundreds of mosquito bites were SO worth it!

  Much love to all♥

So, today is going to be a fun post! I want to tell you all how I ice dye! It's super fun project! I know this would normally be a summer post and it's the second day of fall, but I tie-dye any season of the year ;-)
I'm sure you've all heard of tie-dying. This is a similar thing. I guess you could say that it's taking tie-dye to the next level. If you know me at all, you know I LOVE tie-dye. The whole process, I just find so thrilling! Every step is so fun!
Anyway, let's get on with it, shall we?!

Step 1: Soak your shirt, ring it out.

Step 2: Place a cooling rack on top of or in a small tub.

Step 3: place your shirt on the rack. Any way you please! You can swirl it or fold it however you want. I just scrunched this one up.

Step 4: Pile the ice on top of the shirt!

Step 5: Pour the powder dye on top of the ice.

Step 6: Watch the magic happen! {The melting of the ice} Only, I was way too impatient to sit there and wait for the ice to melt, so I brought out my handy-dandy hairdryer and melted the ice ;-)
If you did this project out in the sun, I'm sure it would melt quite quickly. But I've only done it in the kitchen :-)

Step 7: After the ice is all melted, just wrap your shirt in plastic wrap like so:

and let it set for 6-8 hours. The longer it sets, the more vibrant the colors will be!

After it has set for 6-8 hours, rinse your shirt out until the water is almost clear. Then wash your shirt separately from any other clothes. It will still have more dye in it than you think. Or just hand wash it. {Clarifying: You only need to do that the first time you wash it. After that just wash it with like colors.}

And here is the finished product!

Luckily have a great friend who happens to be a model!

Have a great! Now go ice dye! ;-)
